PostSubject: Re: A Time For Secrets - POW Game   A Time For Secrets - POW Game - Page 2 EmptyFri Jun 03, 2011 8:20 am

@Sieg: You detect two light signatures, and neither one is even remotely close to you. They seem to be somewhat equidistant from you, and they are waving around. You are not entirely certain, but it looks like they may have still been searching for a place to hide when Watashi's voice sounded the "Go". Your best guess would put them each about 100 meters from you, and probably about 150 meters apart. They are clearly in motion, but you aren't entirely sure at the moment where they are moving to/from.

@Viking: OOC: I like the tactic. You'll have to supplement that with an additional stealth roll, as that requires subterfuge. Do another Infiltration roll, specific for this purpose, to see how successful your ruse was.

@Kap: Your light reveals no one within it's beam. Beyond your light, you thought you saw another light, perhaps somewhere around 150 meters away from you, toward (likely well beyond) the starting point.

@Griefer: You see two light signatures. One of them is swinging wildly, and near you; perhaps between 25 and 50 meters. It is moving, but you're not sure where it is going. The other is around 150 meters from you, and seems to be swinging about as well. You can't tell well enough from here whether it is moving or searching. It could be either one.
Your ears also confirm that the light-bearer you see close to you is not actively attempting to conceal location. The light-bearer is making enough noise for you to notice their movements and location. Again, you can't tell from the sound whether they are moving somewhere, or still trying to hide.

@Specter: You can clearly see two light signatures. The one closer to you (between 50 and 100 meters) is not moving, but the light beam is swinging about. You expect the person is searching. The further one (100+ Meters) is also swinging about, but there is too much distance and cover for you to tell if it's movement or searching.

Order: [Initiative/Stealth]
Sieg [17/2]
Greifer [16/1]
Kap [11/3]
Specter [9/1]
Viking [8/0]

Sieg, you're up.

On thing Greifer can't stand is waiting without doing anything. He take a last look around, ready to either duck behind his stone or if nowbody comes use his flashlight to make someone come.

Perception: 3 hits + readying action

If Greifer had to duck away: 5 hits

If his second action is looking around with a flashlight: 7 hits!

Seeing a light in the distance, Kap moves from his cover, sprinting in a zigzag pattern to another piece of cover a couple dozen meters away. Heading around the outside toward the light source by the starting point.

Seeing the closer light, Specter thought about crawling closer. But she decided against it for now and just waited, continuing to observe the surrounding. Sooner or later they will move.

(OOC: This is either postponing her actions, or the action itself will be observing. Can she observe and still ‘shoot’ if a target approaches?)

EDIT: Active perception.

@Sieg: You've closed a little more than half the distance between you and the light you saw before. Charging forward as you did required you to dance a bit as the terrain became clear in front of you, but your athleticism has served you well, and you believe you have more than enough breath left to survive the rest of the way to the light.
The light is still there, and clear, although it has swung your way and you think they saw or heard you.

@Greifer: You see a light charging toward you at full speed. You know you have more than enough time to plan ahead, and decide that you're going to antagonize this person in to coming closer. You swing the flashlight around, making sure that they know where you are and how to get to you. You expect that it will be only a couple more seconds.
On one of your signaling swings, you actually catch a glimpse of the person, and believe that it is Sieg who is attempting to charge your position. You are familiar enough with your terrain that you think you might have an advantage in the coming "fire fight".

@Kap: You see a light go charging forward. The person holding that flashlight was not bothering to be "silent" in any sense, neither hiding their light, nor their steps. After the person passes by the central space, you see them going toward the other light you could see from your position. It looks like the action is over there! You figure you're still somewhere around 100 meters from where the action is about to take place.

@Viking: You're ensconced in your ruse.

@Specter: It looks like the action is coming to you, to some degree. You see that the two lights are converging; or rather - the one is coming to the other. They are still between 25 and 50 meters. You figure that if you run, all-out, you can likely get close before they really lay into each other.

Greifer hides behind his stone and points his flashlight to the other hideout where his commlink is shining while he is crawling in the oppsite direction.

Redo infiltration: 4 hits

He don't look over the edge of the stones and trusts entirely to his ears. Since the other guy is running it shouldn't be a problem to wait for the right moment to start the shooting.

Specter laid on the ground, breathing calmly. Come on. Just come into reach. I’ll do the rest then, she thought smirking. Damned darkness. That guy is really good at what he does.

She shifted her position slightly to get a better view outwards. Not many options for me. Without my magic I’m not sneaky enough to hold up against the others. At least not the cybered ones. Best I wait till someone comes here. She chuckled quietly. The dragon waits in her lair for the heroic knight. Or was it breakfast?

Another active perception roll. Int3-1(defaulting)-2(darkness)+3(Actively looking)=3d (3d6. hits(5)=2)

Her eyes followed the swinging and tumbling lights she could see from her position, hoping for them to come close enough for a good ‘shot’.

Viking Continues on his way until he reaches a a spot where his eyesight can see almost as good as he always had. When he came up to the centre where he wanted to be he stopped giving his position and made the light go straight to the sky.
He dropped prone under the level of the Grass of this wild field so the grass would block any light that came his way and started using his hearing to determine where the others where.

Stealth roll(2) Yeah Baby! king

Not sure if I get to the place I want, as I am not sure if I just could not change Vikings actions or was standing still last pass.
Desired location- near enough to the centre to spot someone without using a light [no -2 modifier if possible]

@Sieg: You see someone dash behind a Rock, just at the edge of your flashlight. You have a pretty good read on where the person went, but there are a couple of obstacles there which the person could be hiding behind, by the time you get there. You're currently about 10 meters out. Behind one of the 3 possible obstacles, you see a faint glow, which could be the flashlight shining off something as it's pointed up in the air.

@Greifer: You have a good feel for where the person running toward you is. You would guess that they've made it to approximately 10 meters from you. You can't tell if they're stopping hard or continuing to run on, but they are definitely doing something!

@Kap: You've made it perhaps half way. You can see one light now, not two, so you assume that the other person has aimed theirs upward, and is hiding. The pending "action" hasn't started yet, but you're certain that it will at any moment.
If you keep your running up, you'll be within range to be shot at by the end of your next action. You'll be able to shoot the following action.
While you're running forward, you notice that the other light you'd looked at before is closer to you than before. It looks like it's headed away from the middle, which is where you are. And perhaps 25 meters away.

@Viking: You decide it's time to look up and see what's going on that's obvious. You see a light dash in to the middle, but you can't make out who it is, since they are somewhat hidden by the center-light orb. That said, you figure that the person who just ran in is likely 25 meters away from you, or so.
Off to your left, you see an obvious light, somewhere around 50 meters from you.

@Darkon: You can see 2, and sometimes all 4 other light sources. They seem to be concentrated in two areas. 2 of them, one coming in and out, are located off to your left, approximately 50 meters from you. The other 2 are located near the center of the playing field. In both cases, the lights are coming and going, but they seem to be following a pattern.
One of the lights near the center is pointing directly toward you, indicating perhaps that that person is running away from the other one in the center. Or perhaps not.
Either way you go, you're about 50 meters from a target.

Sieg spots the light..but not wanting to make himself an immoblie target and not knowing where the others are he jumps over the first obstacle and does a serie of flips and jumps (rolls) Continuing his way with some luck people would get notice of him and all gather up in one place.

(EDITED GYMNASTIC ROLLS)

Greifer was hiding behind his stone and waiting that the other guy, Greifer thinks he saw Sieg's face in the darkness when he used the flashlight do look around. Greifer wanted to stay calm and wait until Sieg was closer and turning to the bait. Until: Sleep Screw that man, it's just a game. Let's stop this hide-and-seek. Yippie-ya-yeah Schweinebacke! bounce
With this in mind and Greifer jumps up and shoot in the direction where he assumed Sieg would be by now. The reasonable part of Greifer hoped that Sieg would at least look in the direction of his commlink, the rest didn't care very much and want some fun.
Attack with 5 hits!

OOC: 'Yippie-ya-yeah Schweinebacke' is a german quote from 'Die Hard 1'. I hope they still know this film in 2072.

Viking's Action:
Seeing Kap running across his field of vision, and turning to shoot at Viking, he waits out the storm, staying as well hidden as he can. He hopes that he can chase down Kap at some later point, and get him, and everyone else, for the Grand Prize.
Viking's action: Stay hidden for the remainder of the turn, and re-roll Stealth.

The lights start flashing!

@Sieg: As you start to head over toward the likely hiding places, the person you saw jump behind them pops up and fires at you! You, luckily, manage to dodge out of the way, and keep your balance. No small feat! You now can tell where your opponent is, and you believe that his "partial cover" will afford little protection.

@Greifer: You get close, very close. You clearly see the surprise in the eyes of your foe, as he manages to jump out of the way. You try to "follow" with the beam of your flashlight, hoping to keep him in the beam long enough for it to "count", but you guess his direction slightly wrong, and he slips out. The fight is joined!

@Kap: As you start shooting in the direction of the light, the light "goes out." You're not entirely sure what happened, but it looks like the person who had the light must have either not been there, or hidden. The grass in the field is high enough that hiding is definitely possible, but you don't have a clear read on where the other person may have gone down.
Ahead, the lights of "battle" are flashing excitedly.

@Specter: There seem, now, to be two battles "raging" in your view. You have your choice of the two of them to approach. They are similar distances apart.
Your Perception tells you that one of the battles is in the middle, where there is little cover. The other is off in the "wooded" area. There is a lot of cover there. OOC: Since you could easilly have moved, you can go ahead and edit in a move action as well, before taking your next action.

@Viking: A shot is fired at you, but you had already dropped to the ground. As you don't hear a shout of excitement, you surmise that the shot didn't hit you. The Shooter continues on his way, not bothering to pursue you and your location.

Order: [Initiative/Stealth]
Sieg [17/2]
Greifer [16/1]
Kap [11/3]
Specter [9/1]
Viking [8/1]

Now that he has jumped, he is not in the mood to hide again. He want's to end this game, one way or another.
