Who said running the shadows was easy? Dodging bullets, swords, spirits, and spells just to name a few. Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, even the occasional Dragon can make any Shadowrun go bad. |

| The morning begins much like any other, the sun rise painting the city strange colours through the smog, the sounds of cars and bikes punctuated by occasional sirens and the ringing of your phone.
The beaming face of Scopes, an afro-orc fixer of your slight acquaintance appears on the screen, and launches into a typical avalanche verbage.
Yo chummer! Long time no see, I'd love to tell you what I've been doing the last few months but time as they say is money, anyway an old pal o' mine's back in town, I think you should meet him, be in the Skeleton over in Redmond tonight eight thirty, ask for Maurice he'll point you the right direction. Godda dash!
Before you have a chance to get a word in edgewise he's already gone.
OOC: This will be a 3rd edition campaign set in 2064 in and around Seattle. I'm looking for 3-6 people. Applications can be posted here or sent to me by PM
Runners should be created using the standard 3rd ed rules. Anyone wanting to start with cyberware Beta grade or better, or equipment with an availability of 8 or higher should PM me first - there will most likely be strings attached. If you want to use anything that isn't in the rule books or supplements, run it past me and I'll see what can be done

| Character creation as per SR3 core rules (A-E system) or as in Shadow Companion Rules (point based?) and if point based, how many points? | |

| I've never created characters using the Shadowrun Companion points based rules, but if you want to use them then I believe a 100 point character should be roughly analogous. Just apply rule 7* and it should be fine. Is there an official translation of the points buy system for 3rd ed? If not make a troll or elf 15 points.
Edges and flaws can be taken at double points total - ie. a 6 point flaw would give you 12 more points, a 2 point advantage would cost you 4 points.
Edges and flaws can be used by characters created using the standard 3e rules tooso long as their points totals balance out.
If any of this seems obviously game breaking, please say.
*Rule 7: Don't take the piss

| Here's the breakdown from SR Companion for Building Points:
Race Human = 0 Dwarf or Ork = 5 Elf or Troll = 10 Metavariants (i.e. ogre, dark elf) = +5 to above Ghoul = +10 to above Otaku (similar to 4ed Technomancer) = +30 to above Shapeshifter = 25
Magic Full Magician = 30 (25 spell points) Aspected Magician = 25 (35 spell points) Adept = 25 (power points = magic rating)
Attributes 1 attribute point = 2 build points
Skills 1 active skill point = 1 build point
Resources 500 = -5 (yes negative 5 build points) 5000 = 0 20,000 = 5 90,000 = 10 200,000 = 15 400,000 = 20 650,000 = 25 1,000,000 = 30
Edges and Flaws Edges and Flaws can be taken by using or giving build points, while it is suggested they balance one another, it is not required using point the point system.
Standard Character creation is 123 build points (not sure why they chose that number to be honest)
If you'd like more information on any of this stuff let me know and I'll PM ya or post it here
In the meantime, I'll be rolling up a character to join

| Hey all, here is my candidate:
“Zion” Aspected Magician (Sorcerer)
Attributes A, Magic B, Resources C, Skills D, Race E.
“So here we are, chummer. You need magical support off the books. I’m scoping for a high paying job. You know where I’m from and what I can do. My power is raw, self-taught, and contrary to corp wisdom, my time on the streets is my edge. I'm adaptable, efficient and unconventional. All your policies and rules and procedures; they just slow you down. Your mageslaves are no match for me, learning from books and trids... when the mojo’s flying, page three chapter ten won’t save their hoop. You gotta sling it real time, like I do. So let’s talk some more about price. Your aura tells me we can reach a deal.”
Zion is a twenty eight year old sorcerer who grew up among the ever burgeoning Seattle underclass. An orphan and street kid from an early age, only his innate sorcery kept him alive in his formative years. Used and occasionally protected by various criminal organisations, he managed to avoid committing himself to any one in particular, and has evolved into a “free agent” spellslinger. Zion’s been on the wrong side of the law more times than he can count, and has a strong dislike for Lone Star, Knight Errant, and the mega’s in general. He is brave, stubborn, and more than a little jaded, but lives in hope that metahumanity will prove his expectations wrong. Curiously, he has a soft spot for the elderly, and enjoys anything to do with urban or combat biking (a favourite past-time of his).
Attributes (A, 30 points) Body 6 Quickness 6 Strength 3 Charisma 3 Intelligence 6 Willpower 6
Essence 6 Magic 6 Reaction 6 Initiative 6 + D6 (6 +3d6 if Increased reflexes spell active)
Spells (35 points) Powerbolt 5 Manabolt 5 Improved Invisibility 4 Influence 4 Treat 5 Trid Phantasm 4 Levitate 4 Increase reflexes +2, 4
Active Skills (D, 30 points) Sorcery 6 Stealth 6 Aura Reading 4 Negotiation 2 Etiquette 2 Bike 2 (Suziki Mirage 4) Unarmed combat 2 (Elbow 4) SMG 3 (H&K MP5 TX, 5)
Knowledge skills (30 points) Organised Crime 5 Seattle Street Gangs 3 Magic 3 Safehouse locations 3 Yakuza territories 3 Mafia controlled establishments 3 Government corruption 3 Police procedures 3 Combat Bikers 4
Language skills (9 points) English 3 Japanese 2 Italian 2 German 2
Contacts Trixie Mac (Human female Fixer, level 1) Unstoppable Eddie (Ork mafia “made man”, level 1)
Resources (C, $90,000) Suzuki Mirage street bike ($12,700) Sustaining focus 4 (silver ring with shield crest, Increased reflexes, $60,000) Armour jacket (5/3), nonconductive 5 ($1,500) Armour vest ($200, for more formal occasions) Longcoat (unarmoured, but otherwise as Lined coat, $700) Heckler & Koch MP 5 TX submachine gun (integral gas vent 2, laser sight) ($850) Sound suppressor ($750) 2 clips ex-explosive ammo ($200), 1 clip gel ammo ($30) Micro-transceiver rating 4 ($4,000) Wristphone ($100) Bug scanner rating 3 ($1,500) Jammer rating 5 ($5,000) 2 x plasteel restraints ($100) Respirator with pressure regulator ($750) Medkit (rating 3 biotech, $300) 2 x Stimulant patch (rating 5, $250) 2 x Trauma patch (rating 6, $240) Wireclipers ($25)
Lifestyle low (one month, apartment in Redmond, $1,000) squatter (three months, “unsafe” building scheduled for demolition, also in Redmond, $300)
