Running a mage

I am a new GM and I am currently using a quick adventure that requires that I use a Mage. I read up on the awakened section of the rule book but I am still confused. The magician in question does not have a foci, is a human and has initiative grade 1.

If I use a flamethrower spell with her, what do I put for the f\2?

*Ahem, I'm in that game...So normally I would tell you 0, zero, nix, it's not nice to use flamethrowers on people!

But since I'm under obligation here, so I must tell you, that the magician chooses the Force of the spell, witch will have a direct effect on Drain, Damage and the max hits he/she can achieve on the spellcasting test (which is required to hit the person you targeted, since it's a indirect combat spell)

Heh, unfortunately for you, I'm not running a no magic game.
