Purple Dino Bar. Redmond Barrens.

The Purple Dino Tavern is a run down dive in the middle of the Redmond Barrens. The smell of stale beer, smoke, and the sound of bad music fills the air here. Behind the bar is the biggest, meanest, looking troll you ever did see. He has purple hair, and a HUGE cigar clamped between his teeth.

He leans across the bar and asks you, "Names Barney, what'll it be chummer?"

Sloane walked casually into the establishment. He gave a glance to the security and was thankful that all he had on him was his concealed baton, he was even helmetless for the moment, just clad in his leathers. He made his way to the bar and looked to the troll blankly "I'm guessin' it's synthale or bust, right? Well, synthale for me then..." He smirked and took a moment to glance around the establishment once more, actually enjoying the music in this place, not for it's level of quality but for the homely feel it gave to the place, it was retro, classic, vintage... It suited Sloane's old fashioned tastes...

Barney slid an ale to Slone. The ale vibrating to the beat of the music. A dancer got up on stage, a portly dwarf scantly clad. Most of the patrins ignoring the dancer as they went around their buisness.

Sloane took a sip of the drink and cricked his neck, he glanced around the bar and his eyes skimmed briefly over the dwarf... Not really his type... He sighed and glanced back to the troll "So, anything else in the form of entertainment tonight, like a band or a singer or something?" He smirked as he took another sip of the synthale... He'd actually grown so used to the taste of this by now that the real stuff would probably knock him sick. He yawned and stretched, glancing around once more to the other clients, eyeing and measuring them up, purely out of professional habit. He was used to brawls breaking out, especially in places like this. Now, he was never the one to start them, but with his level of training and physical prowess, it was often him who finished them and such was his training that all of his senses were on full alert, even during this, his supposed personal time and relaxation break... Ah well, that's ex rent-a-cops turned mercs for ya...

Silver Fox looked up at Sloane and shivered ... not my type at all ... There must be a logical explanation for all that acne and phew! the guy could need a few creds to buy himself some new feet. The local council could use him as a garbologist. His feet would clear the rubbish as he walked towads it. Never mind!

Now to scan the room quickly, fellow metahuman 'troll' (hard to miss category), definitely 'gay' elf (aren't they all?), one very pissed ork (I am sure they are born that way). Ha! Contact!

Flipping open his Commlink, he scans the room and his eyes fall upon a pair of humans, one with his eyes glazed and fixed to a very sophisticated Commlink and the other looking like a scared cat that doesn't want to be there at all. Asian and dressed in black, Silver Fox hopes this meeting won't take too long.

He drains his drink, flips Sloane a 20 Credstik for some new shoes and socks and heads over to the pair of humans.

Sloane blinks and glances to this mysterious donation and then to it's donator... He cocks a brow and checks the cred stick once more, waiting for the man to head away to other business before handing it to the Troll "What's the story, legal? Operative? Am I rich?" He smirked at this last comment before taking another sip of his drink, bland though it may be. He turns to look at this other man once more, still curious...

Silver Fox slips into the seat next door to the human. The human places what looks like a small clip of regular ammo on the table and pushes a button. The trio then talk amongst themselves without any noise whatsoever. Looks like a whole bunch of miming. Lips are too hard to read as they mask their mouths. There are no hand signals either which gives away even less. Part way through the conversation, Silver Fox checks his Commlink. The door opens as he flips it closed and a muscular human, a large ork and another human, kinda geeky looking walk into the bar. They head straight for Silver Fox and take their places at the seats. As the waitress moves to respond to the new entries, Silver Fox motions her away. She takes the hint without batting an eyelid and glides off to serve someone else on the other side of the room.

Seems like business is on the menu and they are drinking it slowly. Looks like some planning is afoot too. Oh well, its like Silver Fox is often heard saying ... Piss Poor Planning leads to Piss Poor Performance . . . and the obligatory crappy paydirt at the end.

Looking around the bar Barney sees the usual customers, Silverfox, Doom, and an odd assortment of runners. There are the usual go-gangers as well. Barney looks toward the front door, noticing the steel plated door is hanging by one hinge, he decides to have the bouncer stay the night to keep his bar safe.
Thinking to himself he decides to get a new door in the morning, and to look for a louder band. This one is starting to get on his nerves...

Havick walks into the bar, scanning the area quickly and logging everything into his memory from the smell to the sounds and the on guy trying to hide over in the back corner of the bar. he sees the group of people siting at the table quite obviously runners, Havick gets the idea that he might as well see what their job is. He quickly looks for an empty table still in there direction.

Walking by the table he drops something. Havick bends down to pick it up "Sorry" while picking it up he quickly hids a mic on the underside of the table and walks off to a table far enough to be out of hearing distance of the runners. he flips on his earbud and activates the mic stashed under the Runners table he litsens into there coversation

Silver Fox says to his team of Shadowrunners, "OK, so if thats all then I will see you at the meet point and good job on the information you received. See ya later!"

The team stands and moves off in the direction of the door. Silver Fox thanks the barman, tipping him 200 nuyen on a credstik for the new door. "Thanks! See ya later!" he says to the barkeep as he leaves.

Barny accepts the credstick.... What former runner wouldn't take some free New Yen!!! He then walks around the bar leaving the back up bar keep to serve the roudy croud. She is a little orc, cinda cute for an orc too. Even a human could think about being with her when she was fixed up...

Walking around to the office, Barney ducked inside to get a little sleep.

An enshrouded figure knelt in the night on the rooftop of a building that sat high above most of the cityscape. She enjoyed all the sights the city offered from this view, the sounds and the smells enveloped her. The dark figure closed her eyes and felt the very pulse of the city flow along with hers as she stood from her lonely perch. Reading a passage from a red book that she protected from the rain. Her target was a meeting at a bar several miles from where she was at, a short run for her. "Wracked with your charm I am circled like prey Back in the forest where whispers persuade more sugar trails where white lady laid than pillars of salt. We owe our lives to those that lay before us, and our souls to the city that feeds us." she snapped her book shut as a several hidden voices behind her replied in unison. "And we shall follow you that saved us, Amen." From the deepest shadows 5 figures, dressed exactly like her stood silently and leaped from the high rise roof, scattering to the winds. the lower half of the womans face could be seen as she raised her head slightly. "And i shall lead you who saved me, Amen." The shadowy figure raised one foot off the ledge as she let her balance give way to gravity, pulling her down the edge of the building.

the feeling of the rushing air let her know that she was still alive as her eyes closed to the bright lights that rushed passed, from the streets below all anyone could see was a figure made of darkness rushing towards the ground, as her feet met the side of the building, she deftly began to pump her legs, gaining momentum as she neared the ground. lights rushing up at her, faster and faster, her eyes still closed as a soft smile slid onto her face.

As she neared the ground, almost a dozen people had noticed her by now, she raised a hand as a line shot out from her grappling hook, latching onto another building across the street, she felt the line grow taught as she lifted her legs, letting the rope take her weight and momentum, swinging her with great speed through an alleyway and up onto another rooftop, she sent a soft mental command to the hook through her commlink to release as she landed with a slide onto the rooftop, rolling to her feet as she opened her eyes. now running with great speed.

Up over air conditioners, under pipes and up and over ledges to more and more buildings, the city blazed past her, the rushing air being the only thing that let her now exactly how alive she was.

The commlink now beaped, letting her know she was nearing the bar as she took one last jump and slid down a rooftop ledge that lead more than enough stories to kill anyone that fell this distance, but she was not anyone, letting her feet once more feel the surface, she curled into a ball as she pushed off as hard as she could changing her momentum from a fall to a great leap that spanned an entire city block with only one more jump, finally she saw her target, she closed her eyes to the city, letting it lead our dark figure where she needed to go, her left hand felt a hard metal pipe as she neared the edge of a final building. grabbing it, she swung down into an alleyway that lead to the hard ground, far from her home within the great heights of such a city.

Looking up at her rooftops as she saw similar acts going on, dark figures bounding and disappearing into the shadows as the rest of her sanctuary carried out their business, letting her know that no matter what, she need not be alone anymore.

She crossed the street and entered the Purple Dino Bar. The roof over her head while protecting her from the rain, also made her long once more for the outside. She looked around the bar as she spotted the group of runners that she was looking for. Ryel had told her of a meeting for a job, and she had wanted to help personally, walking over as she took a seat with the group. "Time has less meaning for those who don't care to watch the sand constantly fall. My name is Matron Sarah, you probably know my assistant Ryel who contacted you about joining in your mission."

A wet and athletic person jaunts through the door, and walks right up to a group of runners like she owns the place. Barney, noticing this shakes his head in wonder. It takes all kinds to run the shadows...

He remembers back to when he was younger, and a young orc named Arieal was running with him. Now those were the days....

He nods off at his desk in his office in revery....

Anyone near the door can hear the low growl as Mr. Grey's westwind3k pulls up to the bar. The growl dies as abruptly as it began, the door shuts and the alarm beeps. As Grey gets a look at the place the alarm beeps a couple more times... just in case it wasn't armed enough the first time.

Mr. Grey walks past the security guard and flashes a small smile almost as thanks for not hassling him.

Through the door walks a rather tall elf wearing a black business suit with a black tie that disappears into his jacket. This man definitely does not fit in with the normal crowd around here, but seems to know his way around.

He walks straight toward the bar and waits for the barman. When the female orc appears, Mr. Grey looks quite surprised as he expected Barney. Grey leans in toward the barmaid and practically whispers, "I'll have a glass of wine please... Barney keeps it in a small barrel behind the bar, it's the Gray colored cask."

Mr. Grey enjoys his wine so much, that he has a cask of the finest elven he can find shipped to the Purple Dino and, for a nominal fee, Barney keeps it on reserve for when Mr. Grey finishes a run.

When the barmaid returns with his drink Mr. Grey wanders over toward a free booth and sits, sipping his wine and taking in the sights.

He occasionally checks his wrist watch as if he's waiting on someone and they're late.

An elf about the size of a normal human walks into the bar. He notice he's rather short for an elf.

He skips past the bar and head straight for the table with the man in the suit.

As he sits down at the table, he removes a small box from his coat pocket and sets it on the table. The two begin to have a conversation, but it is impossible to make out what they're saying thanks to the White Noise Gen.

If any bar staff approach the table, the two stop talking until the waiter/waitress leaves.

Matron Sarah, while leaning closer to her group as she paid closer attention to the conversation she noticed one distinct problem, "What kind of run is this? From what i've heard through my organization, this is simply grabbing a bit of information from a corporate office, is this correct?" Looking directly to the person who appeared to be the johnson of this mission.

The man in the suit looks to his comm and mouths a curse. He stands, shaking the elf's hand and briskly walks out the door.

Damn the service in that dive bar! Hopefully I can still make it in time for the greet.

The engine to Grey' westwind3k roars to life, and the faint smell of rubber wafts into the bar as Mr. Grey peels out, speeding into the distance.

Before the door can close, a tabby cat slips in. He leaps up onto a stool and then onto the bar, settling into a curled ball. A blurry, diaphanous cat rises out of the body, the ghostly form tinted slightly blue. Green eyes peer at Barney. "I would like some milk mixed with your strongest clear liquor."

The door opens again and a tall, but rather slender man enters. He has short, red hair, thin sideburns and there is a datajack on his right temple.
He wears a long coat. It is greasy, threadbare and riddled with bullet-holes. He takes a look around, then goes to the bar and sits down.
"I'd like to have a beer, Miss." he says and smiles at the barkeeper, before looking curiously at the cat.
"Hello, what's this ?" he asks, more to himself, then to the barkeep:
"You do allow awakened cats in here ? That's a new trick to piss off teenagers ?"

Bright green eyes turn to the newcomer, staring. A soft, arrogant whisper sifts into his mind. "And I was not aware he allowed in barely-sentient gutter rats, and yet here you are. Perhaps you will address me directly next time you have an impertinent comment to make?"

The apparition fades as a saucer full of a white liquid is placed in front of the cat. Its body stirs and begins to lap up its drink with fastidious precision.

Barely-sentient gutter rat, eh ?

"No offence meant, I'm just a bit surprised to find a cat in here, going Star Wars on several people...
Sure I'd like to address you directly, is there a name you prefer ?"

The cat does not respond for a moment, taking a few more long laps of the milky drink. Then it curls up, as if settling to sleep, before its ghostly form reappears. Emerald eyes turn to look at the man again.

"A name?" A soft, amused chuckle. "If you must have one, Kit will do. And what name do you go by, sideburns? Or should I just call you sewage?" There is a predatory precision to the voice, its barbed words tinged with a playful superciliousness. The cat is evidently enjoying the exchange.

"Well, its better to have a name, unless "Hey, cat !" will do, isnt it ? But fine, nice to meet you Kit, I'm Henderson."
He attempts to shake hands, then withdraws his hand again. "Sorry, Kit, I forgot... May I ask, whats your business ? You know, I havent seen talking cats in this kind of establishment for... quite some time, so forgive me, if Im a bit... curious."

As Henderson talks, Kit briefly hops back into his body to take a few more drinks before reappearing. A cheshire smile. "My business? The business of shooting stars, I suppose. Or do you wish to know my specific business here?" He chuckles softly, evidently amused. "A little favor, a debt incurred. A bit of life for life interred. And you? What brings you to Barney's fine establishment?"

With that, the waitress walks over, placing a plate of bread and honey in front of the spectral cat. Kit returns to his body, sniffing the tray of food before beginning to eat delicately.

" Just wanted to take a drink and check the new folks around. Its been a long time, since Ive been living here, but, you know, an old friend pulls some strings and here I am once again."
Henderson watches the eating cat...

Bread and honey ? Weird combination for cats, isnt it ?

He scratches his head in amazement...
