Sins Of The Father

The moment the goul leaves the door and turns toward our pistolero girl, Many Skin decides to act quickly. With some fast steps he trys to reach the door where the ghoul just stood a second before. He grabs the emergency opening handles for the door and trys to push the door open in order to help Jazz. Just a second, hang in there!

Trix glances around at the fellow runners and passengers. He sighs "Whats the kill count at?... How many of those fragin things are still out there?"He looks at many skins as he's working on getting the door open to assist Jazz.

Many Faces pulls the release for the doors they spring apart but only 5 inches the damage of the doors prevent them form opening any farther. Now danger and caution icon pop up every where Trix see's the conductor turns and states all passengers must step back the doors are opening but with the damage by the ghouls the door wont open all the way and the conductor keeps repeating himself over and over again.

Sloe watches the Gun Bunny go thru the opening to the roof he opened.

Well I guess she will find out if any more are up there.

Tracks her movements across the roof. Hears the gun fire, then the scraping sliding noises and hearing her hit the ground, seeing her land near the ghoul.

I bet she can not fight in close quarters worth beans.

Damn my dear mother said there would be choices like this at times.

Sloe turns and runs down the car sliding past Trix and coming up behind Many Faces, extends his super squirt just past Many Faces face, resting his forearm on Many Faces right shoulder. Watches his smartgun link line up the shot, aiming at the exposed ghoul standing over the Gun Bunny. Zooms in thru the smartgun link camera until he can see the ghouls ear, then takes the squirt. The squirts off a second squirt into the ghoul.

Sloe sees his smartgun ammo register go down by total of 3 out of 20.

The ghoul standing over Jazz raises it fist again to to strike her but stops jazz eyes widen when she see the ghoul eyes open wide and its body starts to shake violently and then its eyes roll into the back of its head and fall onto jazz pinning she to the ground. The foul breath is almost to much to bare as it breaths slow but steady.From behind her she can still hear a ghoul moving about.

Jazz shakes her head, trying to figure out what happened. She was aiming, had the freak in her sites, and was just about to pull the trigger, and then, what? - Oh yeah! I slipped on the gore! She thinks to herself, still really trying to understand how it is that she managed to fall off a mostly-flat roof. Hopefully no one will know why she fell off, or else she may never live it down! Ugh...
As she came to, Jazz realized that the "freak" that she had had square in her sites was now lining up a second swing at her, clearly perturbed that the first attempt had been rendered futile. Jazz highly doubted that the "freak" would continue to be mostly-irrelevant for very long, and figured that now would likely be a good time for her to "regain her senses"...
Unfortunately, and fortunately, just as she was about to start moving to get out of the Ghoul's way, Jazz was surprised by the jerking, surprised look on the thing's face, as it fell forward and landed squarely on top of her.
Struggling a bit, Jazz raised herself up, attempting to move as quickly as she was normally able, which was a far site more quickly, even in her somewhat dazed state, than this monster was capable of. She shoved the thing, managing to get it to roll off of her and onto the ground. - Hopefully I'll be able to get my head back about me before the other monster's considerable strength advantage catches up with my obvious speed advantage. Jazz thought to herself as she winced in pain standing up. Despite the internal registers of pain that Jazz was somewhat used to from her Martial Arts training, she was quite able to smooth out her motions and return to the well trained fluidity that she was more used to. - Hopefully this will be enough... She finished her thoughts out with as she turned her attention from her body to the final Ghoul. It was time for some action.
Jazz, finally back on her feet, raised her pistols up in an attempt to fire them.

After jazz pushes the unconscious ghoul off of her hoping that the smell will come out of her outfit. Jazz turns see the last ghoul she knows of trying to get through the window at the end of the train near the mage. As the rest of watch the gun bunny pick her self off the ground and turn to the last ghoul the train jerks forward a few inches.

Jack's wide eyes flicked from his ghoulish face behind the window to his gun. He stared uncomprehending at the thing... why hadn't it fired? Why?! That was what guns do. You point, you pull, the tripper releases the firing pin, the firing pin creates a spark, and the spark ignites the powder block, making the bullet shoot down the barrel. What could go wrong? Was the powder block wet? Those things were made so that you had to soak them for a week before they ran that risk! Could the firing mechanism be corroded? He'd cleaned the thing Monday! But something was keeping the thing from sparking... it had to be! Some mechanism in the gun. It was like... like...

It's like the fraggin' safety's on.

Jack turned the gun slightly to the side, and checked. He started to laugh. "Heh. Heh heh. Ha ha ha!" His laughing became louder and stronger, and he felt his face flushing. He might have had hysterics... but no, thank God, the laughter had fixed that problem for him. Still chuckling he stood, getting himself off his back and out of the panic induced sprawl that had him on the floor.

SA: Stand up from prone position.

Still chuckling, he looked at the ghoul thrashing at the door without panicked eyes.

Lazarus reaches up and grabbing one of the bars overhead keeping himself from falling from the sudden movement of the train and makes his way to Jack and takes aim at the ghoul pounding on the window.

As Sloe fires the gun next to Many Skins head he jerks, Hey watch it !. The next moment he hears a hysterical laughter from the back of the car, just as he turns around the car suddenly moves, grabing the handles next to the door he tries to keep standing.

Balance Check, Agility 3 - Defaulting 1: 0 Hits, Critical Glitch!

Sloe moves back away from Many Faces, hears the laughter coming from the opposite end of the car, and rapidly moves back underneath the roof exit. Briefly sees his balance augmenter engage as the train jolts, moves gracefully despite the sudden movement of the train.

Oh yes we have Fruity Pebbles with us, well there are two back there, hopefully they can deal with what ever ghoul they have.

Sloe turns his head slowly thru an arc, all sensors are active.

Sloe grimaces at the stench of the blood, and waits.

No wonder the ghouls love us.

The train jerks again but this time is starts to roll slowly as it starts to pick up speed heading to the station that was gong to be the last stop of the night. The ghoul facing jack starts to scream as he see that his meal is going to get away but turns to Jazz standing near the train maybe not all the food is going to get away.

Jack cursed as the train started moving. His shoulder hit the wall as he lurched to the side, causing pain to shoot down his arm. He lost his grip on his gun, and watched it go spinning under a nearby seat. The fact that his would-be devourer was now being left behind was a slight balm... but he'd much have preferred to have kept his feet and his gun.

"I think maybe God's telling me I shouldn't have gotten up this morning. Heh. Looks like He's doing all He can to remedy that mistake."

Sloe staggers into the support pole, hooks his free hand to grab the pole to keep from completely falling on his arse.

Hmm hope Gun Bunny can run fast and or shoot faster.

Jazz's head snaps left, watching the train lurch forward toward it's next destination. She quickly looks down at her feet at the unconscious Ghoul, and forward at the still-conscious one, wondering briefly what her action will be. - Obviously, running to the final station is not the most desirable of the potential solutions to this situation... Jazz thought to herself, still holding the two Sliverguns out in front of her, carefully maintaining her aim at the Ghoul at the other end of the train car.
It didn't take her long to decide what her "reasonable" action would have to be. Get on the train. - There's no telling how many more Ghouls will be out here... And I definitely don't need to get a bite. She thought to herself, looking quickly back at the train.
- Drek! I'm on the wrong side! She thought, noticing that her broken windows were all conveniently located on the other side of the Train. - No luck there... Now only 3 options: Get to the front of the car, and get on the connector, try and hold on to the almost-broken-door that this Ghoul was working on, or try and catch the back railing as the train sails past... There really wasn't much of a choice. The first and third had equally little chances of working. Best to jump up on the thing and hope the doors were bashed in enough to get a good hold.

Jazz turned on her heels and started to run, matching speed with the train. She quickly holstered her guns and reached out toward the Train doors in an attempt to get a good grip on the severely warped doors. She knew that if she could get her hands around one side of the door, or the other, that she should be able to find a really good hand hold, and just hold on for a while. Maybe the team would be able to break the other window for her, while the train was moving.

With both hands now free, Jazz felt a little more comfortable with her chances, however slim they were. - If I have to fight the fraggin' things, I can do it after giving a go at gettin' the frag outta here. She thought to herself grimly, reaching for the door as she ran. As soon as she had a finger or two in one of the gaps, she would make the jump and try to get the other hand in to hold on with.

As the train starts to move Jazz see that her ride is leaving without her turns and runs and leaps at the open door. The ghoul starts to run at his fleeing meal scream in anger that after all this he may not get his meal.

Valentine started to get up, but paused as a thought occurred to him. With the ghoul by the door being left behind, the most immediate physical threat to him was gone. The ghoul that had so frightened him when it fell through the ceiling wasn't moving: it was either dead or unconscious. The was drek all he could do at the moment except look for his gun. At least, drek all he could do in his meat.

He let himself sink to the ground, resting his head against the cool, dirty metal of the floor. It wasn't ideal that the train was moving, but he thought he had a good chance of finding his way back so long as he could follow keep up with it.

Complex Action:

Astral Projection

Jack felt the physical sensations around him dim. He was no longer aware of the cold metal against his skin, the weight and weave of his clothing, or the far-from-pleasant odors in the car. Instead, a new world of sensation impressed itself on him; one of emotion, energy, and magic. His sight was the only thing that remained constant, thanks to his having been viewing the world through the lens of magic since the lights went out.

Unfortunately, he had to quell a surge of panic just as his astral form was leaving his body, because the dark shadows of the car's walls rushed up at him, passing through him. Visually, it was a lot like a strobe light going off: moments of light when his eyes were unobscured and every speck of light shown with a brilliant luminescence, followed by the dark, cold shadows of the train's metal walls as they rolled through him.

It was disconcerting, but so transitory a state that he didn't have a chance to be paniced by it. Rather once the wall had passed through him (or, rather, he through it) he willed himself upwards. There was no sensation of disorientation as he flowed through the ceiling of the train car; he'd been expecting it. Once outside, he saw the brilliant aura of his teammates, as well as the dim light of the ghouls. He used these points of brilliance in an otherwise shadowy world as stars with with to navigate. The train was moving, yes, but in the astral Jack could keep pace with it and more. Here, thought equaled movement, and the physical world hadn't quite managed to reach that threshold yet.

He was surprised to see that the ork girl wasn't on the train anymore, but outside it... and was jumping towards on of the car doors, a ghoul hard at her heels.

Gymnastics 2 + Agility 5 + Edge 5 = 12 = 5 Hits. I doubt it's necessary to use the rule of 6 on this roll... (Was a little worried about the success; threw edge in there to make sure)


Gymnastics (3 hits) 3/2= +1 dice for Climbing test
Climbing (Athletics) 2 + Strength 3 + Gymnastics 1 + Edge 5 = 11 = 5 hits. Again, I am going to skip the rule of 6 roll.

Lazarus reach for the upper bar as the train jerks again and starts to move barely missing it send him falling back landing with a thud and the sound of the wind being knocked out of him FRAK..!!!! is all he can get out before the air exits his lungs leaving him breathless. Many faces takes a step back with surprise and a body fills up the open door way and a arm swinging in grabbing hold of the other side of the door and is greeted with the smiling face of jazz looking through the door.

Jazz peered toward the front of the train, looking to see if the thing was going to be moving or not. Then she looked back toward the Ghoul she had just left behind, realizing with some degree of surprise that she hadn't left it behind yet. In fact, she was going to be quite upset in a few moments with just how much she was not leaving it behind...
- Do I whip out a gun and shoot at the thing, or do I try and squeeze in... Shoot, or squeeze... Jazz thought to herself, holding on to the door with her entire left arm. - Who am I kidding?!? I'm definitely shooting!
Jazz reached in to her holster to draw her weapon and attempted to pull off the somewhat awkward movements required to draw the weapon, and then to shoot it.

Game Stuff:
Simple Action 1: Gymnastics Test to draw the weapon: Gymnastics 2 + Agility 5 = 7 = 1 hit.
Simple Action 2: Fire at the Ghoul: Pistols 7 + Agility 5 + Smartlink 2 = 14 = 4 hits.

Re-Roll with the Dice Pool Negative for being off-balance: 2 hits

Jazz hanging on to the train is able to get her pistol out without dropping it and takes aim and fires off a round at the ghoul close on her heels hitting it squarely in the chest causing it to loss its balance and falling face first in to the ground skidding to a sudden halt as ifs life's blood pools around its now still body.Jazz pulls herself in close to the out side of the train as it gains speed so not to be hit by anything hanging from the walls. 5 minutes pass as the trains speeds down the tracks to its finial stop of the night. the train slow and comes to a stop the one door opens. the doors that jazz has been hanging on to a temps to open but the damage to them from the ghoul prevents that from happen. As the team look out the windows and doors the see a few gang bangers standing there hope to catch a easy mark there eyes wide open at the conduction of the train one gangers even drops his lead pipe sending a loud ring through out the station. They look at each other and run as fast as they can out of the station. Looking around the team can see the sec cams are off line again. As the team departs the train there com links all show a waiting file as yet unread.

Jazz puts her gun back in it's holster, where it belongs, knowing that she was going to be needing the use of both of her hands to hold on to the train at full speed. The fact that she could comfortably reach her entire arm in the door definitely eased her considerably, as that would make her job of staying alive much easier.
As the train sped along, and Jazz's muscles got tired, she distracted herself by thinking about the fight. She had to struggle to suppress the urge to laugh at herself about falling off the roof. That must have been as humorous to the Ghouls, and the other guys in the train, as it is to Jazz right now. For whatever reason it was, and Jazz still had not figured it out, she had slipped right off the edge of the roof, right when the freakin' Ghoul was in the middle of her smartlink sights. The lucky fraggin' monster turned out to be the only one of the group that survived too!

Jazz was relieved to arrive at the station, and stepped back onto the platform with a sigh. The first thing she did, before even paying attention to the Gangers hanging out on the platform, was to work her arms a bit, getting the blood flowing comfortably in them again. Then she stretched out her sore muscles, making sure that her back and legs got some attention too. She needed to be certain that everything was working the way it was supposed to, considering both her fall, and having to hold on (- Hold on for dear life...) to the train for over 5 minutes.
As soon as she was back to "herself" again, she looked around at the other people from the train car.
"Imagine the "luck" of being stuck in a train car, while it's being attacked by the HMHVV monsters, with other people who can handle themselves." She said to the group, sticking her head in the car. She couldn't really do more than that, and before trying to continue the conversation, Jazz moved down to the next car, which was undamaged, to walk through to the other platform. She walked over to her car, admiring the damage they had done, and returned to the doors, which were open on this side.

Jazz smiled at the group, a warm, welcoming smile. The one that says "you guys are alright, since I know you had my back...".

Jack noted the ghoul going down, and willed himself forward faster, descending as he did so. He passed through the astral shadow of the walls once more, and up towards the end where his body lay motionless. It was always disconcerting, looking at oneself... and it didn't help that his body had no aura now, since Jack himself wasn't within it. As a magician, Jack was used to seeing people surrounded by the lights and halos which marked their state of being... seeing someone without one was a cause for some measure of distress. Seeing one's own self in such a state was doubly so.

Jack focused on his body, and felt his consciousness fall into it...

He coughed and pushed himself up on the palms of his hands. He felt a brief stab of panic at the darkness around him, then remembered that the lights had gone out. Shifting his perception once again to the astral, he took in the aftermath of the battle. Of the ghouls, only one remained with the team, hanging from the ceiling escape hatch.

Just the sight of it was enough to send Valentine scuttling forward on hands and knees, to reach up under the seat where he'd seen his gun disappear. Unable to see it in either the physical or the astral, he was forced to grope blindly for the weapons.
