The Audition: OOC

This page will deal with OOC material for those auditioning for Suileor's team. Paradox will be GMing the event.

Cool! So what's the procedure? Do we post our character showing up at the audition or wait for a scene-setting post? Also, am I clear to post now or are we waiting for more people to sign up?

Well, before we start I'll go ahead and give a bit of posting info for my characters.

Puck will speak English in white, think in cyan, and speak Sperethiel in green.

Skuld will speak English in white, think in indigo (Btw, can everyone read this font color alright?), Norwegian in olive, and Old Norse in orange.

Shadow will speak English in white, think in blue, and Japanese in red.

Durandana, I reckon we're just waiting on the cue from Paradox.

ok are all the tryouts happening at the same time what if you wanna go for two spots just asking real excited.

Hi, all,

(I thought I typed this up already - but I can't find it!!!)

I'll start each audition off with a scene-setting, a map and a declaration of Combat Round 1. Once that's there, the audition is started. Because there aren't many NPCs, you guys shouldn't need to wait for me beyond rules questions/decisions. (I'll try to check frequently during the day.)

Ghostmaker: I assume you want to audition for Rigger as well? That's fine.

Riggers and Magicians will start tomorrow night. My fingers are sore from so much typing!

It absolutely was worth the wait.

Just to make sure I understand the rules right, in combat with multiple IPs, you divide up your movement based on the highest number of IPs and can move ever turn by that much, regardless of whether you have that many IPs, right? Is that how you're doing it?

T_Hawk pointed out that I didn't clarify whether fighters could pick up their original equipment or had to choose from the inventory in the armory. You can choose any combination of your own or the armory's equipment, within the limitations for not full body armor or firearms above light machine gun.

In general, I'm going to do exactly what it says in the SR4 core book. (Unless someone points out an online errata or identifies a better example or clarification from another source book.)

For combat movement, I'm referring to "Movement," SR4 Core, p. 138

"Characters may move at [walk or run] during each Initiative pass, or they may choose to remain stationary. ... If a character mixed his modes of movement during a Combat Turn and it becomes important to know exactly how far the character has moved in a particular pass, simply divide his Movement Rate by the number of passes in that turn."

So, a human that can move 10m per turn walking. If there are a 3 initiative passes, he would move 3.3 m/initiative pass if there were 3 IPs in the turn.

In RL, the tryouts will be running in parallel. In game time, they run at the following schedule:

Magicians: 10 PM
Fighters: 11 PM
Riggers: 12 AM
Hackers: 1 AM

Hmm, well... bit of confusion, I suppose. I should have been more clear with the conditions at hand, sorry. Still trying to figure out the format.

You actually get one more dice for rolling damage resistance, I'm using a heavy pistol (-1 AP) with capsule rounds (+2 AP) for a net of +1 AP.

On top of that, the capsule round is filled with Warp (Arsenal, p. 84). You have to do a toxin resistance test (Anniversary ed, p. 254): i.e. Body + (chemical protection - 1 Penetration). If you don't have any chemical protection the -1 doesn't do anything. The Power is 10, speed immediate, so if you can't reduce the Power to 0 you'll suffer stun damage equal to the remaining Power, Disorientation (-2 to all actions), and Hallucinations (-2 to all actions).

It's good to have Tricks up one's sleeve. XD

Yeah, you forgot that net hits add DV, stun in the case of capsule rounds.

I got 6 net hits on the attack test.

I just noticed it's a scaffolding, not a wall in the middle.

I can see Shadow, and he's within range (22 meters away, medium range for Nerin is 80)

So after you figure out everything else, i'm going to attack twice as well, if that's alright. If not, i'll wait I guess.
